Immensely popular yet at times controversial, royal series The Crown comes to an end this week, with the final season set to focus on the fallout of the Princess of Wales' shock death.
Talking to Woman's Day, Australian actress Elizabeth Debicki, 33, reveals what it was like to step into Diana's shoes and the intense pressure she felt playing the role of a lifetime.
This is the very last season of The Crown. How did working on this season compare with the previous one [season five] you've been involved with?
I would be lying if I said I didn't feel an extra responsibility going into this season. It's not easy because of the undeniable devastation and the layers of real memories for people [but] this is an interpretation. It's super complex but I know I did my best. I don't imagine I will ever have to be asked to do anything that comes close to this again but I know we've made this season with grace.
How do you handle a storyline as difficult as the death of Princess Diana?
