Mel B on rebuilding her life and falling in love again after an 'abusive' marriage

Best known as Scary Spice and with an outspoken persona, it's easy to mistake Mel B for a fearless pop star with no worries. But she's had her share of challenges, most recently appearing on Bear Grylls' new Netflix show, Celebrity Bear Hunt. 'It was the worst, most scariest thing,' she confesses.

Away from the spotlight Mel has faced more hurdles than most, previously alleging, 'I was in an abusive marriage from 2007 to 2017.' Her ex, Stephen Belafonte, has always denied her claims and filed a defamation lawsuit against her, something Mel has tried and failed to get thrown out of court. Stephen said, 'I am ready to prove Melanie's statements about me are false.' But Mel has made it her mission to raise awareness of domestic abuse, and last year was awarded an honorary doctorate for her charity work in supporting survivors of domestic abuse.
