When Jo Francis, 49, split from her fiance she found youth helped heal her heartache

Staring across the table at the young man opposite, I couldn't help but admire his gorgeous blue eyes and perfect teeth. He was incredibly handsome and I felt very proud to be having dinner with him. People in the restaurant probably thought I was with my son. But he was, in fact, my date for the evening and at 27 he was considerably younger than me.

I never saw myself as someone who exclusively dated younger men but when my last relationship ended a few years ago I didn't want anything serious. I'd been married before and after my divorce in 2015 I'd found love again and got engaged.

We were together four years before calling it quits. Afterwards, when my heart. healed, I decided in the summer of 2020 I was ready to date again.
