The last thing you want is an annoying health niggle holding you back from living each precious day to the max. Whether it’s pesky back pain, trapped wind or stubborn heartburn, you can ease everyday ailments with these super-quick expert fixes - perfect for when time is not on your side.

Heartburn

Sip a small glass of warm water mixed with 1tsp aloe vera juice for instant relief. ‘It helps soothe the oesophageal lining and reduces the burning sensation pretty much immediately,’ explains Dr Krutika Nanavati (clinicspots.com). Just avoid mixing with cold water, which can constrict digestion and worsen symptoms. Sleeping on your left side, or elevating your upper body with an angled wedge pillow, can also help if you suffer heartburn at night.
