In 2011, the actor took on the role of Eva Price in Coronation Street - and stayed until 2018, when Eva went to live in France, following the death of Aidan Connor with whom she had a turbulent relationship.

Now, after seven years, Catherine, 41, is said to be stepping back into Eva's high heels. A TV insider revealed, 'When [Catherine] was approached with the idea for Eva's return, it was too good an opportunity to pass up.' They continued, 'She'll start filming again in summer and be back on screen for autumn,' adding, 'She's so excited and can't wait to get back on the cobbles, it's definitely not going to be a storyline to miss.'
