Sat across from the pregnancy test in the sink, I couldn’t bear to look at it.

I’d been left feeling really disappointed so many times before.

My husband Daniel, 31, and I had been trying since early 2017, and now a few months in, I would have expected something to happen.

I couldn’t wait to be a mum and thought the process of getting pregnant would be quicker.

Everyone I knew who had become pregnant had done so by accident as a teen – I just assumed it would be relatively easy.

As I picked up the test, an all too familiar sinking feeling dropped through my stomach.

‘Negative,’ I said, watching Daniel’s face drop.

‘We’ll get there,’ he said.

I nodded, but I couldn’t help but feel disheartened.

Reaching for my phone I knew one place that could help.

Facebook always has support groups, I thought.

So, I joined a fertility support group, and I was soon receiving helpful advice from other couples and parents.

Occasionally posting, I just wanted to ask advice from successful couples.

Then one day, I saw an advert for the group – they wanted another admin.

I can do that, I thought.

After applying, it wasn’t long until I was admin of the group alongside a woman named Taz, who was based in Bristol.

Chatting regularly, Taz and I became firm friends.

Only her job intrigued me...

She worked as a fertility psychic.
