The model’s glamorous rock ’n’ roll life would be a dream to many, but Penny’s true purpose is to serve
-
she might be married to one of the world’s most legendary rock stars, but Penny Lancaster has found her true calling as a police officer.
It’s been 18 months since the former model – most famous for her long legs and her marriage to Do Ya Think I’m Sexy hitmaker Rod Stewart – qualified as a Special Constable with the City of London Police. And the 51-year-old says it’s changed her life.
“I was searching for something,” confides Penny, who reveals she had something of an identity crisis when she went through menopause.
“You are at that stage, thinking, ‘Who am I? What is the meaning of life? What am I for?’ Lots of women go through it. I certainly did.
“I found my meaning in a place I didn’t expect to – the police. Now, it’s such a big part of my life. The sense of belonging, of purpose, is incredible.”
