WeaverStory’s latest bridal collection, ‘Rivaayat’ spotlights Benarasi Brocade lehengas with zardozi. “Our new range is inspired by the Mughal gardens. Each lehenga is handwoven by a master weaver, then hand-embroidered and hand-sewn by master artisans in Bareilly, the epicentre of zardozi karigari in India. The coming together of Benaras and Bareilly creates heirlooms and stories. The colour palette spans a myriad hues to suit any grand occasion. The ensembles have been put together as panels in silk using brocade and kadhwa weaving techniques. There are classic reds and pinks, as well as pastels for the modern-day bride. Adding some lightness are the dupattas woven in silk organza with hand-embroidery adapted from the motifs on the Taj Mahal.”
