During an investor event at Tesla's Gigafactory in Austin, Texas, Elon Musk revealed the next part of the company's ambitious Master Plan: leading the global effort to eliminate fossil fuels and converting the world to sustainable energy, with potentially endless benefits.

MUSK’S MASTER PLAN
The latest Tesla Investor Event made one thing simple: the company wants to change how we charge our cars forever. During the keynote, Elon Musk said he wanted to help “eliminate fossil fuels and convert the world to sustainable energy.” The event was an opportunity for Musk to outline his vision for a “sustainable energy civilization” and to provide insights into how Tesla will achieve its goals.
Musk’s plan includes several key elements, including expanding the world’s energy storage capacity by up to 240TWh, adding renewable power to the existing grid, producing more electric vehicles, installing heat pumps in homes and buildings, utilizing high-temperature heat delivery and hydrogen for industrial applications, and building planes and boats that run on sustainable fuel. In essence, Musk is looking to create a world that is powered by renewable energy and where fossil fuels are no longer needed.
To achieve this ambitious vision, Musk estimates that it will require a total of $10 trillion in investments. While this may sound like a staggering amount of money, Musk claims it is “not a big number relative to the global economy.”
He also asserts that achieving this sustainable future will not require destroying natural habitats or austere measures and that it can be done without any significant negative impact on our way of life.
