Choosing a monitor has become as hard as choosing a car, with multiple options with nearly identical specs flooding the retail space. Amidst all this chaos, Viewsonic seems to have gone on an overdrive, launching various models across different categories.

If the Elite gaming model we reviewed earlier had an unmistakable gaming halo around it with RGB lighting and sporty looks, the XG2431’s design style betrays the gaming profile that the monitor houses. There are neither lights dancing around nor ‘horns’ coming out from the back to receive your headset. In fact, it looks like a generic display with slim bezels and compact, non-flashy design. The monitor uses physical buttons for OSD menu, and these are lined up below the frame, needing a little while getting used to, unlike front-mounted buttons. The monitor comes with the central pole of the stand attached. If you need to prop it up on a Vesa 100x100 mount, you have to grab a screwdriver and remove the four screws. The sturdy polycarbonate base has a textured finish and can be attached quite easily. You get a cable loop that can be attached to the central pole for a neat, clutter-free set up. Two arms at the back, below the I/O ports, allow you to manage the mouse and keyboard cables for a trouble-free gaming experience. The monitor offers tilt of -5 to 15 degrees, swivel up to 90 degrees, and pivot of up to 90 degrees towards the right. The stand allows height adjustment of up to 120 mm.
