Marvel's Midnight Suns

A grid-based tactics game that flexes your grey matter is a tougher sell than brawling with your favourite superheroes but it’s one that works brilliantly
Developer Firaxis might be best known for the hardcore XCOM reboot, with its infamously harsh hit-rates and character permadeath, but Marvel's Midnight Suns is no mere re-skin. The story is deep and character-driven, while the combat takes as much inspiration from card games as it does from turn-based tactical ones.
Nor is it based on the ubiquitous Marvel Cinematic Universe. A more obscure 1990s comicbook run focused on Marvel's darker side takes centre stage, where MCU villains Hydra play second fiddle to the all-corrupting Mother of Demons. Your character is a new creation, with a light/dark choice system that affects development and adds tension between team-mates.
