HOT FIVE #1
THIS IS WHY WE CAN HAVE NICE THINS
Motorola Edge 70
We know Motorola can do skinny – who could forget the impossibly thin Razr V3 clamshell of 2004? – but the Edge 70 makes that phone look positively chunky. At 5.99mm (not including the camera bump) it's not quite as slimline as Apple's iPhone Air or the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge, but you'd need to break out a magnifying glass to spot the difference.
Fuel if you think it's over As well as a big battery the Edge 70 has rapid 68W wired charging, and 15W wireless charging, so when it does run low you shouldn't have to wait long for it to top up.
It must have green love The chassis comes in three Pantone-approved colours-gadget grey', 'lily pad' and this smart 'bronze green'-and has Gorilla Glass 7i covering the screen.
Besides, it's easy to forgive a little extra around the middle when you consider that it weighs less than both at 159g and also has a much bigger 4800mAh battery. That powers a 6.7in AMOLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate and 4500 nits of peak brightness, and a Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 with 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. The CPU is less flagshippy than the ones inside either of its even skinnier rivals, and you only get two rear cameras - but that's twice as many as Apple managed to fit on the back of the iPhone Air.
And where it really trumps the other two is on price. The Edge 70 is at least £300 cheaper, so it won't leave your wallet looking so skinny either.
As hot as... a bonfire of chunky phones £700/go.stuff.tv/Edge70
