New buyers get 90 days' access to Huawei Health+, a more robust selection of the data your Watch 5 generates.

After that, it's paid-for. Hey, everyone else is doing it.

SURVIVAL OF THE FITTEST

Huawei debuted more than the Watch 5. The new Watch Fit 4 and Fit 4 Pro also materialised and it's the Fit 4 Pro that demands your attention. A Sapphire glass face and titanium body could adorn your wrist for a mere R5k, backed by Huawei's legendary battery life, speedy charging, and a batch of offline golf course maps.

Oh, there's more. It'll survive more demanding sports too, thanks to its chassis, while also diving to up to forty metres. Other sports modes are to be expected and the Fit 4 Pro doesn't disappoint on that score.

The Huawei Watch Fit 4 sacrifices the extreme durability of the Pro in order to make the price drop but manages to cram in all of the sports tracking Huawei is famous for. Enhanced TruSense tracking accounts for watersports (like surfing), improved stress detection, and the excellent sleep, movement, and heart-rate tracking we've come to expect as standard from the Chinese giant.

HOT FIVE #1

REMEMBER,THE FIVE SENSES

HUAWEI WATCH 5

Huawei routinely makes excellent wearables, and its new Watch 5 might be its very best ever. Broadly supported despite how the industry treats the company, it's an almost futuristically stylish smartwatch packed to the lid with intelligent bits to let you keep watch on your body. At the heart of this is a new X-Tap sensor that delivers real-time blood oxygen measurements... and a few other things (see left).
