UGREEN NASYNC DH4300 PLUS

Ugreen's DH4300 Plus isn't particularly fast, but it's user-friendly and great value overall
-
The NASync DH4300 Plus is one of the cheapest four-bay NAS enclosures we've seen. It's something of an oddball, eschewing the standard front-entry drive slots for concealed top-mounted caddies. It’s also not especially well specified but, as we'll see, it still manages to deliver where it counts.
With its upright stance giving a smaller-than typical footprint, this is a smart-looking NAS that wouldn't look out of place on a desktop. We wouldn't especially recommend that, though, because (as with all enclosures) there’s notable disk noise, particularly if multiple users are accessing it at once. The NAS is cooled by a single large fan in the bottom, with fresh air entering through a grille at the top rear - the enclosure itself is usually near silent except for a brief surge when you first turn it on.
This NAS isn’t badly served for ports, offering a front-panel USB-C slot for quick backups and two USB-A ports at the rear. All three are USB 3.2 Gen1, though, capable of 5Gbits/sec rather than the 10Gbits/sec you'd get with Gen2 ports. Sensibly for a home device there’s a single 2.5GbE network port, ideal for getting the most out of a typical broadband router or small switch, and providing future-proofing for those considering upgrading 1GbE equipment. There’s no second network port for redundancy.
