A successful update to the ever-slender 16in gram Pro, making it a top choice for large-screen lovers
Super slim, stylish and durable, the latest gram Pro is another winner for LG
You have to admire LG's consistency: from its first “gram” laptop a decade ago to the one sitting in front of me today, it has delivered the slenderest, lightest device it can using current technology. Throughout that time, it has judiciously chosen the best silicon for the job: never cutting-edge, but enough to deliver a smooth user experience and solid battery life.
This year, in the gram Pro’s 16in iteration at least, that means Intel’s Lunar Lake Core Ultra 200V chips, with my sample packing a Core Ultra 7 258V with 32GB of embedded DDR5 RAM. These eight-core processors are a match for the Ultra 255H in the Dell 16 Premium (see p52) in single-core tasks but fall some distance behind in tougher scenarios such as video editing and 3D modelling. That’s reflected in the LG gram Pro’s 10,860 return in Geekbench 6 multicore, compared to 17,791 for the Dell.
