Targeting rooms with up to 14 participants, Insta360’s Connect videoconferencing bar makes a strong first impression, combining a great feature set with an unusual dual camera arrangement. Along with a 48MP 4K fixed lens, it has a 4K telephoto lens mounted alongside in a motorised gimbal and uses them in tandem to provide wide-angle views of the entire meeting room and closeup speaker framing.

The Connect is endowed with Insta360’s AI Resolution+ machine learning algorithms, which offer a choice of three views. Gallery mode uses a split-screen view to show up to eight participants each in their own window; speaker tracking zeros in on the active participant; and group framing ensures that everyone stays in the big picture.

For speaker tracking, the Connect uses a combination of sound location along with face, body and mouth recognition. It won’t have any problem tracking voices thanks to a beamforming array with 14 microphone elements.
