APPLE NORMALLY RELEASES new versions of its flagship laptop at this time of year, but for 2025 it has done things differently. Instead of releasing MacBook Pro models with a choice of chips (last year it was the M4, M4 Pro, and M4 Max) and in two different sizes, it has launched a single 14-inch model equipped with an Apple silicon M5 — 16in models equipped with M5 Pro and M5 Max chips are instead expected early next year; the current 16in MacBook Pro M4 Pro and M4 Max models remain available.
