October 2025 - Part 2

Fronius Fortis delivers 270 to 500A MIG/MAG prowess with pulse welding, SynchroPulse, and stitch functions for demanding steel, stainless steel, and aluminium applications. Recently unveiled at FABTECH Chicago in September 2025 and SCHWEISSEN & SCHNEIDEN Essen. “With our new Fortis series, we are presenting an extremely versatile solution for high-quality manual MIG/MAG welding. We have specially designed these welding machines to meet the diverse requirements of small and medium-sized businesses,” emphasises Peter Fronius, Head of System Solutions at Fronius International. “Fortis combines robust technology and intuitive operation with maximum connectivity to set new standards in the metalworking industry.” The brand new devices can be seen live for the first time at FABTECH in Chicago (USA) and SCHWEISSEN & SCHNEIDEN in Essen (Germany) in September 2025. Several models will also be available for visitors to try out in person.

Fronius Fortis: Next-generation manual

One series, many variants

The Fortis product range comprises powerful devices in the 270 to 500 A category, available either as compact all-in-one systems or as split versions with an external wire feeder, providing a significantly extended operating range. All models can be equipped with proven Fronius functions, including pulse welding, SynchroPulse, stitch welding, TAC tacking function, HotStart, and anti-stick.

The Fortis XT complements the portfolio, an extremely energy-efficient all-rounder for three-phase mains voltages ranging from 200 to 600 V and single-phase operation, with a maximum. 320 A, including CEL mode. As a result, these machines are perfect for worldwide use, save energy thanks to their higher power factor, and offer an additional higher output characteristic curve for even greater welding performance.

Rounding off the range is the Fortis Duo.

It combines a compact device with an additional, external wire feeder to enable the use of two wire spools and two welding torches with just one machine.

"This means that the welder can easily switch between different materials or wire diameters at the touch of a button and all without any retooling," explains Michael Eisterhuber, Product Line Manager at Fronius International.

"Users save an enormous amount of time through this feature, which is ideal for frequently changing tasks in contract manufacturing, steel construction, or assembly."
