TESLA SEMI EXPANDS PILOT PROGRAM TO TEXAS LOGISTICS FIRM: HERE'S WHAT THEY SAID

Tesla has widened its Semi pilot program footprint, bringing the all-electric Class 8 truck to Texas through a new partnership with Mone Transport, a logistics company specializing in cross-border freight operations between the United States and Mexico.

The move comes as Tesla prepares to scale Semi production this year, using real-world fleet data to refine performance metrics, efficiency benchmarks, and operational economics.

Mone Transport confirmed it recently tested the Tesla Semi across more than 4,700 miles of Texas routes, reporting energy efficiency figures that exceeded its internal expectations. According to the company, the truck recorded an average consumption of 1.64 kilowatt-hours per mile during its operations — a figure that positions the Semi competitively within the heavy-duty electric trucking segment.

The expansion into Texas represents more than a geographic milestone. It places the Semi into demanding freight corridors where temperature extremes, highway speeds, and cross-border logistics cycles create conditions well-suited for stress-testing battery-electric performance.
