CARDIFF captain Josh MeNally insists they are going somewhere special despite missing out on the URC play-offs.

- By SIMON THOMAS

The Welsh visitors put in a huge effort in a highly eventful Cape Town clash which featured nine tries and two red cards, but they were restricted to just one point in defeat and that ‘wasn't enough to make the top eight, as they finish ninth.

Second row McNally said:

“We fought really hard. I couldn’t have asked any more of the boys. We didn’t leave anything out there.

“Tm extremely proud of the group. No-one would have put us in this position, fighting to get into the play-offs in the last game of the season. We've been underdogs all year. No-one has given us a chance.
