The Wakes threatened from set-pieces from the off and it was no surprise when defender Richard Jones glanced in the opener from Zac Allen's corner.

Step 6 Sutton had to respond and got on the front foot midway through the first half, Abdul Touaiti causing Dan Swan to scramble to a low shot.
