A memorable hat-trick from Ollie Pearce inspired the Minstermen either side of a powerful strike from Tyrese Sinclair.

Yeovil had to play 80 minutes with ten men after Finn Cousin-Dawson was sent off by referee Oliver Mackey for bringing down Sinclair as the last man, before Dominic Bernard joined his fellow defender down the tunnel a minute from time.

But it was Pearce’s hat-trick that was ultimately the difference with York manager Adam Hinshel wood delighted by the striker’s efforts.

“He keeps going, and this is what I’ve seen from Ollie for the last six or seven years that I’ve been coaching him, maybe more,” Hinshelwood stated.
