GLOUCESTER City snatched a last-gasp winner to break Poole Town hearts and extend the Dolphins’ miserable run of form.

Substitute Dan Ball’s stoppage-time header settled a scrappy affair at Tatnam Park, condemning Poole to their sixth consecutive defeat – their fifth by a 1-0 scoreline – while Gloucester strengthened their grip on a playoff spot.

And Tigers manager Mike Cook was gracious in victory: “I’d love to take all the credit and say it was a great managerial substitution! We looked a bit leggy, and they were well organised, stopping us from getting the ball into the areas we wanted. A bit of credit goes to Poole – they were honest in their efforts. We’ve probably got away with one here – it’s pleasing to get a bit of luck.”
