YOUR nostalgic (and quite poignant) review of the late Uriah Rennie immediately brought back the memory of an FA Cup first round re- play match from 28 years ago on a cold winter's night, in November 1997, between Non-League Solihull Borough and Darlington, of the old fourth division.
YOUR nostalgic (and quite poignant) review of the late Uriah Rennie immediately brought back the memory of an FA Cup first round replay match from 28 years ago on a cold winter's night, in November 1997, between Non-League Solihull Borough and Darlington, of the old fourth division.
The clubs had drawn 1-1 at Darlington's Feethams and a replay was, therefore, looked forward to with some intrigue - as it is, of course, always pleasing to see a Non-League side knock out a competitor from the Football League.
The referee that November night was none other than Uriah Rennie!
