When it comes to the clubs you use, getting it right in every area from tee to green can really help you to get the very most out of your golf game

Find the right clubs for your game

When women are considering new golf equipment, it's important to get it right. Choosing clubs that complement your ability and suit your individual swing can make all the difference. Here, we highlight the key elements of various golf clubs to help you make an informed decision...

• Shafts

Because women typically generate slower swing speeds, clubs with a softer-flex graphite shaft are generally a better fit. Lightweight and easy to swing, graphite shafts help to increase clubhead speed and, in turn, deliver more distance.

For players with faster swings, stronger-flex steel shafts offer better control. Shaft length also matters. On average, women's clubs are nearly 2ins shorter than men's. A shaft that is too long can hinder control and accuracy, so proper fitting is key.

• Clubheads

Clubheads come ina variety of designs, weights and even colours. The aim is to find one that matches your skill level while boosting confidence at address.

• Drivers

Women's drivers tend to have smaller, lighter heads than men's, helping to promote faster clubhead speeds. Modern shapes often feature strategically placed weights for a low, deep centre of gravity, which enhances forgiveness and stability. Many of today's top drivers (and fairway woods) also include movable weights to customise shot shape and trajectory.
