BUILDING A GOLF COMMUNITY

Executive Director of Laguna National Golf Resort Club leads the way with a philosophy built around the business, his staff, and a sense of ownership among members.
Knowing that he has a good team to work with, knowing that customers enjoy what he does, and knowing that some of his efforts make his family proud—these are just some of the driving forces behind Kevin Kwee and what motivates him each day.
After his studies in Vancouver, Canada, Kevin joined his father Peter’s company, Group Exklusiv, in his early 20s. He quickly familiarized himself with the company’s diverse interests, spanning property, leisure, and automotive ventures.
Laguna National Golf Resort Club (formerly Laguna National Golf and Country Club) was one of the many properties under the company’s portfolio. Kevin joined the club as Executive Director roughly 15 years ago, taking an active role in its growth and transformation.
He set about assembling a professional management team, led by then-CEO and Managing Director Patrick Bowers, who played a pivotal role in the development of the club and the adjacent five-star Dusit Thani Laguna Hotel. Laguna National now boasts two exceptional 18-hole courses - The Masters, originally designed by Andy Dye and named Singapore’s Best Golf Course in 2016 by the World Golf Awards, and The Classic, also designed by Dye, which opened in 2010 and is famously referred to as ‘The Beast’, and reputed to be one of Asia’s most challenging courses. The Dusit Thani Laguna Hotel, which opened in December 2020, has since attracted not only avid golfers but also business and leisure travellers visiting Singapore for various attractions and concerts.
