Fifth-tier Caledonian Braves have hired an ex-Red Devil to craft their identity

While it isn’t unusual to see former Premier League stars dotted around the lower tiers of British football, every now and then one makes you stop and take notice. FFT did just that when we read the name David Bellion connected to, er... Caledonian Braves.

The ex-Manchester United, Sunderland and West Ham striker is working as head of culture at the Scottish fifth-tier outfit, based in North Lanarkshire. “No, it wasn’t a role or a place that I expected to find myself working at, I must admit,” laughs the Frenchman, who made four appearances for his nation’s under-21s during his playing days. “But sometimes the most unexpected moves turn out to be the most beautiful, and this is one of those. It’s a special place to be.”
