GB tops medal table at junior and under-23 European Track Championships

Not only is the future bright for Great Britain's track cycling squad, it's world-record- breaking, too. The country's best junior and under-23 talents competed at the UEC European Championships in Anadia, Portugal, last week, where they brought home 23 medals - 10 gold, seven silver and six bronze - and set three new world records. The haul meant GB topped the medal table, pipping Italy by just one gold medal. Among the competition's standout performers was 18-year-old Erin Boothman, winner of the junior Ghent- Wevelgem earlier this year, who left Portugal with three titles and two world records to her name.
