FORMAT PS5, PS4 / ETA 11 SEP / PUB UBISOFT / DEV UBISOFT IVORY TOWER / PLAYERS 1-32
The set dressing of a festival for petrolheads is leapt upon as an excuse to cram in as many vehicles (all licensed) and event types as possible. Drifting events using customised street beasts, races with classic cars, rallies, 1v1 races, hypercars, motorbikes… all these and more will be roaring into view on release day.
Despite the geographical shrinking of the play area, The Crew remains open world. You’ll cruise from event to event across the island while sharing the streets with the ghosts of other players (no free roam collisions), free to play around as much or as little as you like on the way. There’s the occasional diversion, such as a speed trap or slalom, to tempt you off course with the promise of extra XP, as we discover while playing the beta build, which contains several hours of curated content – the final release promises much more.
