VAISHALI BASU SHARMA analyses the evolution and progress of defence diplomacy in Southeast Asia
Phnom Penh was recently hosted to the 16th ASEAN Defence Ministers' Meeting (ADMM; June 22), close on the heels of the two-day ASEAN-India Foreign Ministers' Meeting (SAIFMM; June 16) held in New Delhi. Earlier in the same month, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh's visit to Vietnam, in which a rare 10-year vision document that seeks to deepen bilateral defence cooperation between the two countries was signed is an exemplification of this.
