In this exclusive interview, we delve into the mind of Ryan Taylor and discover the secrets behind his stunning shots, the challenges he faces and the passion that drives him to keep pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in photography.

How long have you been a sports and action photographer, and where have you/do you now work?

I started my photographic journey sometime in my early teens. Being pretty obsessed with sports like snowboarding and wakeboarding, I was pretty drawn to the documentation of those sports. As my friends became better athletes, and myself being drawn to technical things like computers, it became a natural fit for me to pick up a camera. I found that this often allowed me to still participate in the activities that my friends were doing, especially as they progressed well beyond my skill level as an athlete. I grew up in the Midwest, surrounded by lakes, which is where I found my love of that water. But that love eventually brought me to the coast of California where I now call home, though I consider the world my place of work.
