It's actually been quite unpredictable because I didn't expect to become an Actor in the first place
-

From being a Financial Analyst abroad to an Actor, to a Single Dad, how has the journey been for you?
I went abroad to find what my true calling is. I had gotten into a Business School in Michigan which is a highly prestigious University.
The B-School is ranked highly so I thought I would find something interesting in world of business and corporate. But sadly, even though I did really well in school, I didn't really find an area in the corporate world that I would like to pursue my career in and spend the rest of my life doing. I graduated well and I also worked for a year.
Then, I came back to India to pursue a career in films. I didn't know it would be acting because I had become an Assistant Director to David Dhawan where I started learning the ropes of filmmaking.
I was just trying to get acclimatized to the atmosphere on set when was offered my first film. thought it would be a good opportunity to try because everyone gets one chance and thought that this was the one chance that I'm getting. It turned out to be a really fruitful opportunity because the movie did really well and then, joined the film industry as an Actor.
I trained myself and started Mujhe Kuch Kehna Hai' in 2000. In 2001, it did really, really well so am here today because of that. It's been unpredictable and think that there is a lot of your own focus and hard work that comes into play, and of course, destiny has its own part to play as to when something will unfold and when it will really manifest itself.
