What Beckham rift says about fame and boundaries

It's difficult to take sides in a family fallout when the family in question has spent decades curating exactly what the public is allowed to see.

- REBECCA JANE

The Beckhams are masters of image control.

That’s not an accusation, it’s a fact. They've built an empire on polish, restraint and editing out the mess.

And yet, even allowing for that, it’s hard not to ultimately side with the parents in this one.

Brooklyn Beckham has made it clear he feels wronged. But when you strip away the emotional language, the grievances read less like deep emotional wounds and more like first world problems.

A trademark held by his parents. A wedding dress not designed by his mother. His mum sharing a dance with him on his wedding day.

None of it screams betrayal.
