Shirt salute to club legends including Jota and Moore

Liverpool have retired Diogo Jota's No 20 shirt following the striker's death in a car crash in Spain earlier this month.

While it is the first time the reigning Premier League champions have retired a number, the practice is fairly common worldwide.

Here, we look at some of the players who have been honoured in such a way....

Manchester City retired Marc-Vivien Fo 's No 23 shirt, (pictured below), after the Cameroon midfielder collapsed and died on the pitch during an international against Colombia in 2003. French club Lens also retired their No 17 shirt in memory of the player.
