Just buckle up and enjoy – the crazy things we do for our kids

If there is one single phrase that unites parents everywhere then it has to be 'the things we do for our kids'... which is usually followed by a heavy sigh or a weary, knowing look.

It's an unwritten law that all mums and dads will have uttered this brief sentence at least once, more often than not while standing on the sidelines of a sports field in torrential rain or subzero temperatures. Or both.

Those of us who have shelled out to take our little cherubs to see their favourite pop star in concert or have queued up outside a shop for the best part of an hour to let them get their hands on the latest must-have piece of overpriced tat will know exactly what it is like to operate outside of one's comfort zone.
