Helping families to write their own precious Christmas stories

Last year, Amardeep and Theo were told the devastating news that their baby son Simba wouldn't live to see Christmas.

Diagnosed with the rare, life-shortening genetic disorder SCN2A, he was just a few months old, and seriously ill in hospital with a respiratory infection.

In Amardeep's words, “we cancelled Christmas, I didn’t want to do anything or see anyone – I was really angry with the world”.

The family were referred to Martin House in December, and our care team persuaded the family to come to our annual Christmas party – which marked a huge turning point for them.
