A new study by the coupon site Bravo Voucher has identified the most popular brands that UK consumers look to for birthday freebies, with Krispy Kreme taking the top spot.

The research analysed Google search data across 78 UK cities to reveal which restaurant and food chains receive the most interest from Britons seeking birthday treats.

The top 10 most searched companies for birthday freebies in the UK:

1 Krispy Kreme - the doughnut chain offers a free doughnut to customers on their birthday. You need to join Krispy Kreme's loyalty programme to qualify.

2 Starbucks - coffee giant customers claim a complimentary handcrafted beverage, food item, or bottled beverage during their birthday month. You must be a Starbucks Rewards member for at least seven days prior to your birthday.
