Top Boy actor raped woman in car, court told

BAFTA-WINNING Top Boy actor Micheal Ward raped a woman in a car after meeting her at a nightclub, a court has heard.

The 28-year-old, who starred in Blue Story, denies two counts of rape, two counts of assault by penetration, and one count of sexual assault against one woman in January 2023.

Ward met the alleged victim for the first time at an “all-white party” at Infinity Lounge nightclub in Gants Hill, east London, on January 1, prosecutor Tracy Ayling KC said.

Opening the trial, the prosecutor told jurors at Snaresbrook Crown Court yesterday that the “young woman” had seen Ward “on TV and in films” and he asked her for her Snapchat handle.

People started to leave the event at about 2.20am on January 2 and the woman was asked to accompany Ward to the back of his friend’s Mercedes car. While in the car, they kissed on the lips, with the woman consenting to him touching her vagina, the court heard.

Ward then invited the woman to an afterparty in Stratford, and the alleged victim and her two friends agreed they would attend and then return to Suffolk.
