The Eden Project will exhibit entries marking an NWC charity anniversary

THE winners of the first Wildflower Photographer of the Year competition run by the Eden Project in partnership with the Canary Wharf Group have been revealed.

From the Shetlands to Sark, hundreds of people entered images of British wildflowers that reflect the variety, beauty and fragility of the UK's wildflower habitats to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the National Wildflower Centre (NWC).

Justin Minns won the Professional competition with his atmospheric photograph of swathes of wild garlic in Chalkney Wood, Essex. Damien Walmsley's image of a poppy field in Kinver, Staffordshire, won the Amateur category, while the Young People's winner was M. Stanway with their photograph of Cornish heather.
