Woodburn looking to rebuild his career at Salford

IT’S been more than seven years since Ben Woodburn became Liverpool's youngest-ever goalscorer - and four years since his last Wales cap.

Now 25, the former teenage prodigy is rebuilding his career in League Two with Salford City, and says he’s finally enjoying his football again.
Woodburn’s name returned to the headlines earlier this season when his longstanding record was broken by Rio Ngumoha, who scored a dramatic 100th-minute winner for Liverpool against Newcastle at just 16 years and 361 days old.
Woodburn (pictured) had set the record back in 2016, finding the net against Leeds United aged just 17 years and 45 days.
He admits he didn’t love losing his place in the record books - but was delighted for the youngster.
“I didn’t love it, but I was really happy for him,” he told The MEN.
“At the time, I probably didn’t realise how big it was. He's probably just loving playing his football.
