Western Mail Synagogue attack a new low for nation

THE appalling attack on worshippers at a synagogue in Manchester is a reflection of the hatred and division whipped up by forces determined to divide us.

The terrorist atrocity on Yom Kippur, the holiest day in the Jewish calendar, is a grave escalation in the undoubted and alarming rise in antisemitism.

While the Jewish community has been warning of such an attack, the UK has not, as a whole, been taking these warnings seriously.

Synagogues, including that in Cardiff, have long had to protect themselves with security not needed at other places of worship. This is a shameful indication of the threats to the community that continue to go unchecked.
