Welsh takes starring role on stage of the Globe

AN ACTOR will make history over the coming weeks when the Welsh language will be heard for the first time at Shakespeare's Globe in London.

Scott Gutteridge, from Llwynhendy, Llanelli, will appear in Romeo a Juliet, anew bilingual production of the classic tale, which will also tour Wales, with two nights at Llanelli’s Ffwrnes Theatre on October 22 and 23.

Scott, who started his career with Llanelli Youth Theatre, will play the part of Tybalt in the play.

He trained at Rada and appeared in Kenneth Branagh’s critically acclaimed 2021 film Belfas as Fancy Clanton, and is known for playing Leo Redmond in Doctors.
