Welsh Guards get fit for festivities in fancy dress

WHEN someone says “Welsh Guard”, a vivid image might spring to mind - someone stoic, physically fit and serious.
And while the fitness certainly rang true, this festive physical training session showed a different side to the regiment.
On a cold December day, grey skies and low temperatures formed the backdrop as Guardsmen swapped standard kit for Christmas jumpers, Santa hats and even full Grinch costumes, proving that morale and humour have a place alongside discipline and fitness.
While the Christmas session is a highlight of the calendar, fancy dress physical training has become part of Welsh Guards culture.
