The Cathedral School, Llandaff, is Cardiff's leading independent school, providing education for around 800 pupils aged 3 to 18. Recognised by The Sunday Times as Welsh Independent School of the Year for both 2024 and 2025 and judged “Excellent” in all five inspection areas by Estyn, it is a school where high academic achievement is expected and where excellence becomes a habit.

Academic results are consistently outstanding.

At A Level this year, 73% of all grades were awarded at A*-A and 89% at A*-B. The most common grade achieved was A*, with 14 students gaining three or more As. In addition, 83% of pupils secured their university places at Russell Group institutions. At GCSE, almost half of all grades were awarded at 9 or 8 (equivalent (A**/A*) and 70% at 9-7 (A**/A). These exceptional outcomes set Cathedral School pupils apart, reflecting the hard work of the students and the dedication of their teachers.

Strong academic skills and an appetite for learning are developed from a very young age. Nursery starts each child’s journey of exploration, sparking enthusiasm and a zest for life. The partnership between home and school begins on day one and the well-being and happiness of its pupils are the highest priority.
