ACTING legend Sir Anthony Hopkins has opened up about the moment he knew he needed to seek help for his alcoholism acknowledging that he "could have killed" someone.

The 87-year-old star, who marked 49 years of sobriety last December, was driving around California in a "blackout" when he realised he needed help.
He revealed on The New York Times' The Interview podcast: "I was drunk and driving my car in a blackout, no clue where I was going, when I realised that I could have killed somebody - or myself, which I didn't care about.
