Seven charged with violent disorder after brawl

SIX men and one teenager have been charged with violent disorder after a brawl in Commercial Road, Newport, on Friday afternoon.

An eighth arrest has also been made. Gwent Police said the 40-year-old man remained in custody.
Officers were called to the scene of violence in Pillgwenlly at around 3pm on August 1.
All six men charged have been remanded in custody and were due to appear at Newport Magistrates' Court today.
The teenager has been released on police bail and is also due to appear in court today.
Gwent Police said its officers' swift response to the incident showed how they were dedicated to keeping Gwent a safe place.
A spokesperson for Gwent Police said: "Seven people have been charged in connection with a report of violent disorder in Newport on Friday 1 August.
