Rollercoaster crash probe found second ride issues

AN INVESTIGATION into an incident at a seaside funfair that left 13 children injured following a rollercoaster derailment has revealed there was an issue with a different ride at the site.
Onlookers described hearing a “loud bang” and “screams” when the Wacky Worm ride derailed at Coney Beach Pleasure Park in Porthcawl during the summer holidays.
A total of 13 children and one adult were injured in the incident, with several of those being taken to hospital for treatment.
In an update published yesterday, the Heath and Safety Executive (HSE) said “safety issues” were identified with the nearby Mini Jet ride after other rides at the site were inspected.
Coney Beach said the “minor and unrelated” issue was identified with the external walkway of the Mini Jet ride during health and safety inspections after the “unfortunate accident” on the Wacky Worm.
It said the Mini Jet ride had since been repaired.
