LANDOVERY head coach Euros Evans says Josh Morse has a big future after the highly-rated Scarlets loose-head made a welcome try-scoring return after more than a year out through injury.

MORSE HAS BIG FUTURE, SAYS EVANS

The powerful prop, who turns 21 next month, is highly thought of by the Scarlets and has been capped 12 times by Wales U20s.

A troublesome ankle injury, however, forced him to miss all of last season.

But his dynamic ball carrying was back on show at Newport Stadium on Friday night, and it was that which led to him powering over for the Drovers’ third try just after halftime to set them on their way to an impressive opening round bonus-point win at the home of Super Rygbi Cymru champions Newport.

“Delighted to see him back on the field,’ said Evans.

“Josh is a player with massive potential and a great future.

“This is what the SRC is about, people like Josh Morse having their opportunity.

“Dylan Alford and Jac Pritchard also came on and there’s some brilliant young players coming through and cutting their teeth in this league”
