OLLIE Tanner will miss four months of action after the winger suffered a fractured fibula and ligament damage during Cardiff City’s win over Wimbledon in midweek.

The Bluebirds came away from Plough Lane with a last-minute winner courtesy of Isaak Davies, however the win was sullied somewhat by a nasty-looking injury to key player Tanner.

After scans on Wednesday, the news has been confirmed that the 23-year-old will be missing for a large chunk of the campaign.

“Ollie has damaged ligaments in his ankle, pretty severely, and there is a small fracture in his fibula, so he will be out of action for four months,” Brian Barry-Murphy said.

“We will have a meeting with the specialist over the next few days and decide on the exact course of treatment from there.”

Tanner (pictured) recently penned a new long-term contract and was earmarked as a vitally-important player for the Bluebirds this year.
