GEORGIAN GEM

HERE are some houses in Wales that command attention, not just because of their size, shape of style but because they ooze an ambience that makes you stop in your tracks as you walk by, admire their grandeur and, surely, make you want to have a peek inside - and Llwynon certainly does that.
Described as one of the finest in Pembrokeshire, set back from the road in the heart of Narberth, the delightful and visually pleasing symmetrical façade tempts you to want to see more and inside you will find beautifully restored original features but a tour of the property will take a while - there are many added extras hiding at this much-loved, Grade II-listed home.
Believed to have been constructed in the 1600s and later transformed into a coaching inn around 1790 hence its Georgian appearance, this property is a truly magnificent example of a three-storey, three-windowed Georgian townhouse - or is it, because there's more to this home than first appears.
Inside the main house there's a wealth of period features to discover, from ornate cornicing to original floorboards, from dado rails to picture rails, fancy plasterwork to exposed ceiling beams.
From an architectural and layout standpoint, the conservation officer overseeing the works remarked that Llwynon is a property that remains the least disturbed and most true to its original form in Pembrokeshire.
